Lindale, Texas (KETK) — We are sad to report the death of a young East Texas girl fighting a rare cancer died last night.
According to Praying For Phoebe Fair's Facebook page, Phoebe Fair passed away at 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
At two and a half years old, Phoebe was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid.
After a 14 month treatment, doctors told her family in July that she would only have two to eight weeks to live. She surpassed that prediction by several weeks.
In a previous interview with the Fair's, Nathan Fair, Phoebe's father, said "We prayed in the very beginning, we asked God that no matter what happens that Phoebe's life would bring glory to Him and that our family's reaction to this situation would bring honor and glory to Him."
Phoebe's story has done just that. Her Facebook page, "Pray for Phoebe Fair" has more than 69,000 followers that prayed for her recovery and is still bringing awareness to this rare cancer.
