Longview (KETK) — All sorts of gourds are on the collective conscience of East Texans these days.
Whether: decorating or looking for the perfect potential jack o' lantern: pumpkin patches are the place to be.
Longview's First Church of The Nazarene opened their pumpkin patch this week.
Reverend Nathan Bienhoff says, "this year's pumpkins are a lot better and healthier looking. They just last years compared to last years. They are night and day difference. Last year's weren't as near as healthy looking. This year's, they are looking really good."
It's third year for the event and organizers say they're happy with this year's crop.
The pumpkin patch also will be the scene for the church's annual "Trunk or Treat" event October 27th.
