Henderson — The Rusk County Employee Health Fair is set to begin at 7 a.m. Oct. 22 and 23 — an hour earlier than originally planned. And it will be run by the Commissioners Court rather than County Treasurer Karen Dobbs-Vaughn and her staff.
Rusk County commissioners approved both changes Monday.
In a previous meeting, County Judge Joel Hale and several of the commissioners had asked Dobbs-Vaughn to consider changing the starting time to 7 a.m. But Dobbs-Vaughn, who is an elected official, said she preferred the 8 a.m. starting time.
“The earlier starting time is more convenient for the employees and wastes less time, which is better for the taxpayers,” Hale said.
