Tyler, Texas (KETK) — A Smith County Sheriff's Deputy was injured in a reported "weather related" crash early Wednesday morning,
At around 1:15 a.m., while responding to a disturbance on Highway 31 East, Deputy Candice Vaughan was involved in a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of East Loop 323 and McDonald Road.
Vaughan hydroplaned and hit a tree on the driver’s side.
The Smith County Sheriff's Office tells KETK, Vaughan was injured and taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.
The vehicle is totaled and the accident is under investigation.
