Arlington, Tx (Dallas Cowboys Media Release) — Dwayne Harris earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the win against the Washington Redskins on Sunday night.
Harris had an 86-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter to mark the fifth-longest punt return in club history and the second return for a touchdown in his career.
He finished the game with 109 punt return yards – the seventh-most in a game in team history and the most since Patrick Crayton had 116 against Seattle (11/1/09).
Harris also had a 90-yard kickoff return in the third quarter to tie the 10th-longest kickoff return in club history.
His was only the third 90-or-more yard return that did not result in a touchdown. He finished the game with 222 combined return yards – the fourth-most in a game in team history.
Also added two tackles on special teams.
This is the second time this season and third time in his career that Harris has won special teams player of the week (9/8/13 – vs NY Giants and 11/11/12 – at Philadelphia).
