Longview — By day, Keegan Alexander is just your typical high school student.
But as darkness falls, he puts on a mask that transforms him into a deranged man known to those in East Texas only as “The Doc.”
“I wanted to do this for several years. Last year was my first season and I just fell in love with it,” said Alexander, a Pine Tree High School junior who has one of the lead roles this year at Doc Wilkes House of Horrors, a Longview haunted house.
While Alexander might be playing “the doc,” the real “doc” behind the fright fest is Eugene Wilkes, who has built haunted houses in the East Texas area for more than 30 years. Doc Wilkes House of Horrors is celebrating its 10th anniversary at 1228 Market St. in Longview this year.
