Longview, TX — Amanda Kraus and her kindergarten students tied a large red ribbon in the bushes in front of Pine Tree Primary School on Monday.
The message Kraus had for her students was a simple one: Say no to alcohol and drugs.
“I think its important, even at the smallest age, to start teaching them about the world and how there are bad things out there,” she said. “We only get one body and we need to take care of it and keep it healthy.”
Pine Tree ISD, along with schools nationwide, is observing Red Ribbon Week through Friday. Throughout the week, teachers are educating students about the dangers of drug and alcohol use.
