The 2013 Major League Baseball World Series will being Wednesday night. Although no Texas teams reached the championship this year, two East Texans did.
Boston Red Sox third basemen Will Middlebrooks and St. Louis Cardinals pitcher, Michael Wacha, who was also the National League Championship Series MVP, will reignite their rivalry from high school on the biggest stage in professional baseball.
Middlebrooks, who is two years older than Wacha, attended Liberty-Eylau High School and was the baseball team's shortstop. Wacha is a graduate of Pleasant Grove where he was a pitcher. Both schools are located in Texarkana with a population of around 37,000.
Coverage of the World Series begins at Fenway Park in Boston, at 6:30 p.m., with first pitch slated for 7:00 p.m., on our sister-station, KFXK FOX51 .
