One of the farmers in the race for Texas Agriculture Commissioner stopped by the KETK studios on Wednesday.
J Allen Carnes is currently the mayor of Uvalde, which is just west of San Antonio.
Carnes tells KETK he says he's running for AG Commissioner because he believes Texans want not just a farmer, but a business minded man in the position.
"You know the state wants somebody that's very solution minded, very pragmatic in doing so and can reach all texans and make sure that everyone knows that they are tied into that office its not just a political stepping stone and its not just something for the farmers and ranchers its for Texas as a whole"
