JACKSONVILLE, TEXAS (KETK) — The Peoples Church in Jacksonville celebrated something special on Sunday.
A blessed day is what Senior Pastor David Butler calls it.
"It marks 10 years that the church building has been here which is a light on the hill for our community," says Senior Pastor David Butler.
Service began with the Marine Corps marching into the church, then the voices of the Jacksonville-College choir rang out.
In attendance, the Jacksonville Jaguar basketball team and State Representative, Travis Clardy presenting guest speaker-- County Judge Chris Davis.
There's someone special the folks of Jacksonville are remembering.
"Reverend Andy A.L Fanette and he was a family family from 32 years ago."
Fanette started the church in 2003.
After Sunday's service, many gathered for a meal to give thanks and celebrate.
"Great step that shows that life continues the adventure continues," says Patti Foster, Christian Speaker.
Pastor Bulter says, he wants people to keep the church's motto in mind everyday.
"Loving God First and loving each other, it's hard to love one another if you really don't love God first," says Butler.
