Longview — Eight of Longview ISD’s 14 campuses posted a decline in attendance on Friday’s snapshot day from the same time a year ago, while two held even and only four saw increases.
Overall, Longview ISD attendance declined. District-wide attendance also fell in Spring Hill ISD, while it was up slightly in Pine Tree ISD. Hallsville ISD, meanwhile, saw a triple-digit increase.
Snapshot day provides the annual official count of attendance and other factors in Texas school districts, with data being used to help set state funding levels and in possible district realignment.
At Longview ISD, the campus-by-campus numbers showed enrollment at Longview High School declined by 30 students, middle schools reported two less students across the three campuses than in 2012, and elementary schools’ populations ranged from a 44-student increase to a 48-student decrease.
