Tyler, Texas (KETK) —
On Friday, October 18, the Texas Medical Board and Gregory Scott Terrell, M.D., entered into an Agreed Order of Suspension, suspending Dr. Terrell's Texas medical license until such time as he appears before the Board and provides clear and convincing evidence that he is competent to safely practice medicine.
The Board found Dr. Terrell was arrested on July 31, 2013, for diversion of controlled substances for another person's use .
The Drug Enforcement Administration along with the Department of Public Safety have arrested Terrell and his assistant at a building that was formerly occupied by Pierce Primary Care Associates.
Terrell, 53, and his office manager, Melissa York, 48, were both arrested  for possession of a controlled substance by fraud as well as diversion of a controlled substance by registrants.
According to the Texas Medical Board, Terrell graduated from The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago in 1986. His primary specialty is Emergency Medicine and his secondary is Urgent Care Medicine.
Terrell became a licensed physician in November 1996 and has practiced in Texas for eight years.
According to Trooper Dark with the Smith County Department of Public Safety, after receiving an anonymous tip, the DEA and DPS gained evidence and issued a search warrant on Terrell.
Records show Terrell has no past criminal history.
