Tyler , TX (KETK) — Get ready to reset your clocks.
Daylight saving ends and Fall back begins on Nov. 3rd.
Even though we're gaining an hour, turning back our clocks doesn't make too many people happy.
"I wish they would put it someplace and leave it alone," said Tyler resident Sybil Templeton.
Some East Texans aren't too excited for Daylight saving time to end on Sunday morning.
"It messes up everything," said Tyler resident Glenda Voit.
The positives about Fall back is we do get an extra hour of sleep.
But the negatives,
"I am a daylight person and I like it to stay in daylight until 9 p.m. at night so I can be outside," said Voit.
With Fall back , the sun sets around 5 o' clock at night.
Templeton was a teacher for 30 years.
She said the time changing really messed up her students.
"It's very difficult for the children, to adjust. they just never do pull out of it, and that is a very important time of year," said Templeton.
"With the Fall back and the Spring forward, you get people who tend to have daytime fatigue, daytime sleepiness or insomnia," said sleep Dr. Daniel Obesso.
Obesso said we all have an internal body clock and when we Spring forward and Fall back it has to reset.
Dr. Obesso suggests you set your clock the night before, and go to bed at your normal time.
"That way when you go to sleep and when you wake up when you normally would, then on Sunday go to bed when you feel sleepy. the other thing that is important is you get lots of light exposure especially in the early morning and throughout the day that's the fastest way to reset your clock."
But still, some are not excited to set the clock back at 2 a.m. on Sunday.
"it's just upsetting, especially when you get to my age, and you don't adjust as well as you used too," said Templeton.
