Longview — He's the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.
Jack Stallard spoke with KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner about Longview's playoff opener Saturday at 4:00.
The Lobos will play Rowlett at Dallas Kincaide Stadium.
Longview has never lost there.
"I don't know why anyone would agree to play the Lobos at Kincaide," Stallard said. "Longview is 9-and-0 there. The Lobos have to feel confident going in there and playing in that stadium. Some of those kids played there last year. A lot of confidence going in."
The Lobos are in the playoffs for the 13th straight year.
"This is a solid football team from top to bottom," Stallard said. "They're 9-and-1. That's impressive. They've got it going. Their running backs have combined for 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns. Dez Chumley has passed for 1,600 yards and 25 touchdowns. He's got three solid receivers. The defense is lights out. They gave up 93 points in district play to some really explosive offenses. They score points on defense. They've got six defensive or special teams touchdowns. I expect them to go deep in the playoffs."
