Arlington — The Rangers tried to get Prince Fielder two years ago.
Now they're finally going to get him.
Ian Kinsler has been traded to the Tigers for Fielder.
Kinsler has been the longtime second baseman for the Rangers.
But Texas is moving him out to make room for the younger Jurickson Profar.
Fielder will give the Rangers the power-hitting first baseman they need.
He's got a big contract.
Fielders' deal still has seven years remaining at a total of $168 million.
The Rangers are willing to spend the big bucks to get a big bat.
