Jack Stallard, the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal, talked with KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner about the toughest high school football district in Texas.
The District of Doom.
"Teams around the state are probably tired of hearing about the District of Doom," Stallard said. "If you don't want people talking about it, you've got to beat somebody out of here. Nobody has been able to do that in the playoffs yet. Kilgore, Gilmer, Chapel Hill and Gladewater are still alive. Kilgore is unbeaten. Gilmer has one loss. Chapel Hill has four losses. Gladewater is in the playoffs for the first time since 2009. They've won some playoff games for the first time since 2001. It's such a great district. If you can survive playing in this district, you can do some damage in the playoffs. Kilgore, Gilmer, Chapel Hill and Gladewater are proving that."
