Houston — It took Gary Kubiak a long time to become an NFL head coach. It took a good while for him to become a competent NFL head coach.
If he is to one day be a great NFL head coach, it will not be with the Houston Texans.
When Kubiak, a native son, former Oiler ball boy, and the winningest coach in team history, was fired Friday morning, it brought to end an eight-year tenure that brought more hope than real seem to promise more than he delivered.
