Nacogdoches, TX (KETK) — A Nacogdoches man was arrested after investigators discovered hidden cameras throughout his house and "massive amounts of pornography".
Authorities had received information that Justin Lejeune, 31, was secretly recording visitors in his house on FM 3314 in Nacogdoches County. They obtained a search warrant, which was executed around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
While investigating, Nacogdoches County Sheriff officials and the Texas Rangers found several cameras aimed at secluded locations, such as bathrooms and guest bedrooms. There were numerous homemade video recordings of people who were unknowingly being taped.
Lejeune's computer was also found to have many images of child pornography.
In total, investigators seized three computers, several additional electronic items, DVDs, notebooks, and components of pornography.
Lejeune was not at home during the search, but authorities found him at Nacgodoches High School where he was employed as the lead cook in the cafeteria.
During an interview with him, Lejeune confessed to the pornography and secret video tapes. He was taken into custody and charged with Child Pornography, which is a 2nd degree felony.
"The evidence discovered at the scene leads us to believe that the suspect has been making and recording these homemade videos for over five years," said Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges in a press release. "We also found numerous names inside the suspect's journal. There could be unknowingly numerous victims out there that we are going to have to identify during this investigation."
Authorities believe that it could take well over a month to go through all of the evidence and identify the victims. The Lufkin Police Department computer forensics will be processing and analyzing the images found on the computers.
An additional warrant has been issued for Lejeune for Improper Image Photography or Visual Recording, which is a state jail felony, and another 2nd degree felony charge for Possession of Child Pornography will also be filed.
"This appears to be one of the largest pornography cases that we have had in Nacgodoches County in some time," said Sheriff Bridges.
KETK spoke to Nacogdoches High School about Lejeune's time at the school district:
In LeJeune’s position as lead cook, he prepared food and occasionally served meals in the high school cafeteria line. He did not receive a district computer login, which is reserved only for kitchen managers in the food service department on each campus.
The district also protects against the viewing of restricted content — by employees and students — through the installation of a Child Internet Protection Act compliant Internet filter.
Criminal background checks, which followed the state-mandated process, were performed both times the district hired LeJeune.
“Mr. LeJeune’s criminal history was individually reviewed, as it is for every NISD employee, and we have not received any complaints from students or employees about him,” Nacogdoches ISD Superintendent Dr. Fred Hayes said.
Hayes added that Nacogdoches ISD rejects any candidate who is not in the best interest of the district’s students.
He added that the arrest was “not indicative of all of the great work being performed every day by our nearly 1,000 district employees.”
