Marshall, Texas (KETK) — Bond has been set at $225,000 for an Arkansas man after police say he allegedly injured several people swinging a hatchet inside an East Texas Wal-Mart.
Christopher Hamilton, 27, of Crawford, Arkansas, was arraigned on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Monday morning.
Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Judge Nancy George set his bonds at $75,000 apiece.
The reporeted incident took place early Sunday morning, around 6:00 a.m., at a Wal-mart located in the 1700 block of East End Boulevard North in Marshall.
Marshall Police were told a man was swinging a hatchet at people and while officers were en route to the scene, communcations said that several people were injured.
When officials arrived, Hamilton fled from the scene into a nearby wooded area. Police as well as K-9 units from Hallsville Police and Texas DPS Troopers searched the woods and found him around 7:30 a.m., and he was arrested.
