Longview — From a lounge downstairs for social interaction to a prayer room upstairs for quiet reflection, LeTourneau University officials say they believe a new student center poised to open in the spring will be a home-away-from-home for the majority of the campus’ students.

The university broke ground more than a year ago on the Anna Lee and Sidney Allen Family Student Center, a $14 million, 60,000-square-foot facility that will serve as a new crossroads for the campus. The new center is poised to open in March to students with a formal grand opening and dedication slated for April.
