Cherokee County, Texas (KETK) — A Cherokee County duo is behind bars after a Gallatin community drug bust.
Steven Ray Davis and Samantha Douglas, were arrested Thursday night, after a search warrant revelaed illegal drugs and a stolen gun.
Around 8:00 p.m., Thursday, investigators and deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from a Jacksonville investigator and Rusk officer, executed a search warrant at a home on CR1310 in the Gallatin community.
Investigators had been gathering information into the suspected sale of drugs from the house. An affidavit of probable cause was prepared and presented to Judge Forest Phifer, who issued the warrant.
Located and collected at the residence was a significant amount of methamphetamine, over $1,000, a stolen firearm and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Davis and Douglas were taken to the Cherokee County Jail and charged with manufacture/delivery of controlled substances and theft of a firearm.
Other charges may be forthcoming pending the outcome of the investigation. Bond was set at $45,000 for each suspect.
