Tyler, Texas (KETK) — Christmas is creeping up on us, and time is running out to get your packages where they need to be before Christmas eve. With the winter weather in Texas and across the nation, some mail services tell KETK that ground, and even express delivery has been delayed.
The post office is packing away trying to get all those Christmas gifts to their destinations before December 24th. Al Gregory, owner of USA Parcel and Mail in Tyler says, “I'm expecting this week, and next week we will have a thousand customers." And with that flood of customers, and the weather across the country , Gregory says, there've been some backups. "They are not guaranteeing deliveries because the weather is bad all over."
Some people like Rita Fryer, have presents to send to friends and family all over the county, “Ohio , New Jersey, West Virgina and I always worry I won't get it there on time." Fryer says, she’s trying to get it out of the way early to avoid headache later. "You have to do it early or you'll be running into a more stressful situation."
Gregory says this week is the time to send all your Christmas packages, “Get it done this week you'll be there in time for Christmas, if you wait until next week you'll be a little late,” and if you procrastinate, you'll have to pay the price, the express price, to make it on time, and that will cost you! “Depending on the size of the package, the weight, and your destination it could get to hundreds of dollars,’ Gregory says.
He says to play it safe, the sooner the better— or there's no guarantee your gifts will make it before Christmas morning. 903-581-1394 or visit: http://www.usaparcelandmail.com/
