Lindale, Texas (KETK) — Members of the Lindale chapter of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) traveled to Huntsville, December 6, to compete in Texas FFA Leadership Career Development Events.
Lindale’s Senior Creed and Agricultural Issues team qualified for state competition by finishing in the top two spots of one of the state’s 57 district competitions and the top two spots in one of ten area competitions.
5,805 total entries began the statewide-tournament in 13 different events which reflect classroom instruction in basic leadership skills, which is part of the agriculture, food and natural resources curriculum.
Lindale’s Alli Harris placed first in the Senior FFA Creed Contest to win the state title.
Lindale FFA placed in the top 20 in the Agricultural Issues Contest. Team members included Dylan Bacon, Marc Walvoord, Blake Brody, Hayley Walker, and Tanner Lowry.
The Texas FFA is the nation’s largest state FFA associations with a membership of 100,000 active FFA members.
