Austin — Mack Brown is still the head coach of the University of Texas.
Brown, who reportedly would step down this week after 16 years, has not.
There was speculation that Brown would resign at Friday night’s team banquet, but that was not the case.
Brown said he was “looking forward to continuing to work” with new UT athletic director Steve Patterson.
Brown did not address his future at all during his speech.
Brown finished his speech at the banquet with: “Now we need to go beat Oregon.”
