Tyler TX (KETK) — Nine days until Christmas! People are packing stores and squeezing in that last minute shopping, but every year, how much do you spend on Christmas?
East Texans said they spend anywhere from $800 to $1800 just on gifts and these Christmas shoppers told us that is not including the holiday feast or traveling. But, they said it's all worth it when they see the looks on their loved ones faces when they open their gifts.
"Just see them and how happy they are and just make memories," said Christmas shopper Jennifer James.
"That's how people know that I love them. I give them a gift," said Christmas Shopper Gina Butler.
"I wish I had more to give but you know you do what you can," said Christmas shopper Darlene Foy.
And of course, you can't forget the holiday decorations. Owner of the Christmas Store in Tyler Angie Bullington said people spend anywhere from $50-$6,000.
"People want their homes to look pretty and want to give good gifts to people and so they spend more at Christmas time," said Bullington.
Bullington said Christmas decorations make people happy and they go all out for the holidays.
