Tyler, Texas (KETK) — There is no one who has respect for the military more than me and as you get older you realize what sacrifices have been made so we could have and keep our American way of life.
But, little by little, political correctness is gnawing away at everything.
Now, there are reports saying at the Army College of War, a place in Pennsylvania where they teach our military leaders the art of war, logistics and tactics, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson's pictures should not be posted and they should not be mentioned at all.
The reason, you ask? They're Confederates. They "fought against the United States of America."
If you know anything about American history, and I don't even have to do research for this, Lee was so torn about what to do in the Civil War. The West Point graduate was the best United States officer we had at the time and was rising in military stature.
But, what to do? In the end, he decided he could not take up arms against his fellow southern countrymen and his family. Well, I don't know that I could either.
Think about it. But, remember this army now is not the army of Eisenhower, Patton and MacArthur, it's the army of political correctness. It's the army which still says the Fort Hood was "workplace violence."
The war college will do what it will do, but, those who know, are aware Lee and Jackson were great military tacticians and not studying them would be stupid.
Do I even need to go on?
That's my point of view, what's yours?
