(KETK) Rusk Tx — If you're driving down Main Street in Rusk, you might just see Kay Epperson, life-long resident, and now rising movie star, enjoying the day on her porch swing.
Epperson just finished shooting a movie in Austin called Manglehorn starring Al Pacino.
"I cast my bread upon the water and they come back tuna fish sandwiches I mean God has just been so good to me," said Epperson.
Those sandwiches include working with the likes of Matthew McConaughey, and Jack Black in Bernie, Nicolas Cage in another new film titled Joe, and now Pacino.
She says, Scarface was impressed with her now infamous East Texas voice.
"He said it's kind of a blend of Betty White to Paula Dean and I said well whatever it is thank you Jesus, but just I mean they get to be almost your friend but then you don't see them again for a year and a half until the movie comes out," said Epperson.
As the movie opportunities come along, she says each role gets a bit more challenging, from Bernie, to cleaning a deer, to arguing over a parking spot.
But for the woman affectionately known in town as Kay "Baby," she wouldn't change a second.
"A wonderful life, it's been a lot of fun, it's really hard work, but I would advise anybody that if they have a dream of being a movie star, go for it," she said.
And remember those, who helped you live your dream.
"God's gonna give it back to you tuna fish sandwiches believe me, my life has just been awesome."
She says she looks forward to any other opportunities that may come down the line, or, in her words, another helping of tuna fish sandwiches.
