Texarkana, Texas (KETK) — On Christmas Eve, officers from the Texarkana, Texas Police Department responded to the 4000 block of New Boston Road in reference to a disturbance.
Officers met with Wal-Mart loss prevention personnel and determined that one of their staff had been cut with a box-cutter while trying to prevent a theft.
Officers determined that prior to their arrival, Quintella Brown, 22, of Texarkana, Arkansas, and two children related to her, a 13-year-old nephew and a 12-year-old niece, left the store with an undetermined amount of merchandise without paying for the items.
When confronted by store employees, Brown produced a box-cutter and began swinging it at the employees, cutting Austin Morris on his chest. Brown was eventually apprehended, but not before biting another employee on his shoulder.
Brown and the children were taken into custody upon the officer’s arrival.
Both employees received treatment for their injuries at the scene.
Brown was booked into jail at the Bi-State Justice Center on the charge of aggravated robbery. Bond was set at $50,000. Both juveniles were also charged with aggravated robbery and transported to the local juvenile detention center.
