Kilgore, Texas (KETK) —
An East Texas man is behind bars after a quick nap at a Kilgore intersection revealed drugs, stolen credit cards, socials security and checks.
Rodney Allen Ware, 30, was initially booked into the Kilgore Municipal Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, three charges of possession of a dangerous drug, six charges of possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone, two charges of fraudulent use and possession of identifying information, theft and credit/debit card abuse. Officials say he was also charged with possession in a drug free zone after being caught near Kilgore High School.
Assistant Kilgore Police Chief Roman Roberson tells KETK officials were called to the scene around 8:45 p.m., Thursday, December 26, on reports of Ware sleeping in his car at the intersection of Kilgore street and Lantrip Street.
Roberson says after performing a records check of Ware, they discovered he had multiple warrants out for his arrest. Authorities found methamphetamine and prescription pills including Hydrocodone, a painkiller, Zolpidem, sleep aid, Quetiapine, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder treatment, Alprozalam, anti-anxiety medication, Clonazepam, treats panic disorder, and Metoclopramide, for gastric esophageal reflux disease.
Ware was also in the possession of credit and debit cards, checks and Social Security cards, all belonging to deceased individuals.

The suspect was moved to the Gregg County Jail from Kilgore and bond has been set at $183,000.
