College Station — When you’re a college superstar, it can be tough concealing your intentions of turning pro. More information has seeped out that it’s only a matter of time when Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel declares for the upcoming draft.
ESPN business writer Darren Rovell reported on Tuesday that Manziel will sign with marketing firm LMLR, which is run by LeBron James’ business partner, Maverick Carter. Rovell also repeated what Forbes’ Darren Heitman had reported nearly a month ago – that Manziel intends to ink with Houston-based Select Sports Group to handle his contracts.
Manziel, the 2012 Heisman winner from Tyler, is expected to announce his NFL intentions in coming days from College Station — ESPN cited two sources on Tuesday night claiming the announcement will come Wednesday. He’ll bypass on his final two seasons of college eligibility, but likely will be a first-round selection.
