Houston — Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell, who defined the Astros way for two decades, fell two votes short of the Baseball Hall of Fame and must wait at least another year to join the baseball immortals. Jeff Bagwell and Roger Clemens also fell short of the required 75 percent.
Biggio finished with 74.8 percent of the vote, two votes shy. Biggio missed the 75-percent cutoff point of 429, tying Nellie Fox in 1985 and Pie Traynor in 1947 for the smallest margin in balloting history.
