(KETK) - Tyler Tx — The 74th Annual East Texas Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament got started at the UT Tyler Patriot Center Thursday night with fighters from across the area competing to see who was the best in the region.
In certain classifications, the winner of this tournament will go on to represent East Texas in Fort Worth at the state level.
This year, the age of the fighters range from eight years old to fifty-five, with some training for years, while others have only been boxing for a few months.
But to be ready to excel at this level, you have to be prepared, with multiple fighters claiming the workload to get ready for fight night far exceeds many other athletic disciplines.
The tournament will continue Friday and Saturday, and the Fort Worth state tournament will take place at the end of February.
