CNN — A teen in Pakistan is being hailed as a hero for sacrificing his life to stop a suicide bomber outside his school.
The tragedy happened Monday in the Hangu District.
The 14-year-old was on his way to school for a morning assembly when someone dressed in a school uniform asked him where the school was. The teen became suspicious and confronted the bomber. There was a scuffle and the bomb detonated, killing the suspect and the teen.
Witnesses say two others were hurt in the blast. Residents say the teen's actions saved hundreds of students.
Now, they are now calling on officials to give the teen a posthumous award for his bravery.
