Kilgore — A Kilgore man who pleaded guilty to aggravated kidnapping while plotting to kill his father was sentenced Wednesday to nine years in prison.
A five-woman, seven-man jury was solely empanelled to decide 51-year-old William Emmett Lawson’s punishment.

It was on that day that Lawson drove his 76-year-old father, Robert Lawson, to a home on Gladewater Street, where he had devised a plan to kill himself and his father.
