Houston — Coach Bill O’Brien said Wednesday the Texans are a “long way” from making a decision about the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and the team will primarily look for a player who can help the organization win.
Asked specifically about former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, O’Brien acknowledged Manziel is a special athlete. However, the new Texans coach has only watched Manziel on TV thus far, and has yet to begin the evaluation process for a dynamic but undersized QB who has risen to the top of some early mock drafts.
