Longview — He's the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.
Jack Stallard talked with KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner abut realignment.
Longview, Lufkin and Kilgore will be the big winners when realignment is announced next Monday.
Stallard talked about the Lobos and the Panthers.
"This is good news. Longview and Lufkin did not make the jump to 6A. The biggest thing is travel. If Longview was in 6A with tyler Lee, you'd be playing teams in the Dallas area. Lufkin would be in the Houston area. Now you have a chance for these teams to be in the same district. Longtime rivals Lufkin and Longview could be in the same district. That makes a lot of sense."
Stallard also talked about the Ragin' Red.
"When Kilgore dropped to 3A they were one of the biggest 3A schools. They'll still be a big 4A. Kilgore is Kilgore. They don't care what classification they are. They're going to play and play well. Again the main thing is travel and keeping those rivalries together. It's going to be a lot of fun to see what happens on Monday."
