Tyler — Josh Tomlin has gone from Whitehouse to the Cleveland Indians.
Friday, he pitched against the Apaches of Tyler Junior College.
Tomlin pitched at Mike Carter Field in high school.
Pitching there again on TJC Media Day brought back a lot of memories for him.
"I played at Angelina College," Tomlin said. "Seeing guys do the same thing, it was fun to be a part of that."
"For me to come here and do the same thing, it's an honor for me to work with these guys," Tomlin added. "To get the experience with them is a lot of fun."
Travis Chick is an assistant coach for the Apaches.
"I grew up with Josh," Chick said. "For me it's just another day of hanging out with one of my buddies."
"But for these guys it's great," Chick added. "They get to watch somebody with Major League experience."
Tomlin will be headed to spring training soon.
Tyler Junior College will start its season next week.
