(KETK) - Tyler, Tx — Good evening.
Wanted to provide a nowcast of what you can expect on Thursday. I do not have any maps in this update because the forecast models are still having a tough time picking up on significant moisture.
Winter Weather Advisory
As of 10PM, Houston and Trinity counties are under a winter weather advisory from 2AM Thursday through 10AM Thursday morning. The main reason for this advisory is because of the possibility of light precipitation falling and some of it freezing on elevated roads and bridges.
All of East Texas
KETK meteorologists do believe that most areas will see some snow flurries during the day Thursday. At times on Thursday, there could be bursts of brief snow showers. Accumulation with this system will be very minor up to one-half inch. The better chance of accumulation will be north of I-20 and along the I-30 corridor.
Overall, it will be very cold on Thursday. Highs will struggle to reach the freezing mark in many areas. Winds will be out of the North between 10-15 miles per hour, giving wind chill values in the teens and low 20s.
