Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — A Lufkin man is recovering in hospital after an altercation reportedly turned violent at an Angelina County motel.
Officers responded to Petty's Motel following a report from Richard Turner stating the he stabbed George Wilcox because Wilcox attacked him.
Officials located Wilcox at Memorial Hospital where he was being treated for puncture-type wounds to his upper torso.
The incident was referred for further investigation but the preliminary investigation indicated Wilcox punched Turner in the face several times and Turner used a pocket knife to stab Wilcox in self-defense.
Wilcox's current medical condition and extent of injuries is unavailable at this time.
