Houston, Texas (Houston Chronicle) — Police have located the 16-year-old mother of a newborn boy found in a Dumpster at a southeast Houston apartment complex Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The teen admitted putting the baby in the trash bin at The Reserve, 9988 Windmill Lakes Boulevard near Almeda Genoa, said Houston Police Department spokesman Victor Senties.
Investigators have interviewed the girl, but no charges have been filed.
Carlos Michel, a maintenance worker for the apartment complex, discovered the newborn in the Dumpster around 8:30 a.m. Kese Smith, a spokesman for the Houston Police Department, said the baby was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital and he appears to be well.
