Gregg County, Tx (KETK) — A Garland man was busted for allegedly transporting about $20,000 of marijuana through East Texas Wednesday afternoon.
At around 4:20 p.m., Gregg County deputies pulled over Jonathan Dewayne Anderson, 30, on Interstate 20 for speeding. During the stop, authorities smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
When officials searched the inside of the vehicle, 28 pounds of pot and two loaded handguns were found.
Anderson was arrested and taken to the Gregg County Jail. He is charged with possession of marijuana greater than 5 pounds, less than 50 pounds and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
