Lufkin, Tx (KETK) — Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help identifying burglars who stole parts off several customer's motorcycles.
The Cycle Shop, located on the 3400 block of East Denman Avenue in Lufkin, was broken into on Sunday, December 1, 2013. A thief cut the fence around the shop's storage yard to commit the crime.
Cameras at a nearby business filmed three different vehicles coming and going from the area during the time of the burglary. Investigators believe one or all vehicles were involved in the crime.
The first vehicle is described as purplish, two-wheel drive, extended cab truck. The Toyota has damaged to the passenger side of its bed. Video appears to show the bedside painted grey, possibly with pain primer.
A second vehicle is a mid-nineties model, extended-cab, two-wheel drive Chevrolet Silverado with a five-gallon propane tank in its bed. The third truck is a dark-colored Dodge Nitro SUV.
During the burglary, the thieves stole turn signals, controls, a seat, mirrors,a headlight bracket, and cables from a 1999 Honda Shadow. The seat and left controls were taken from a from a Yamaha V-Star and a dash compartment lid from a 1996 Honda Goldwing. The air cleaner, seat, battery, and a mirror were also nabbed from a Big Dog motorcycle.
