JACKSONVILLE, TEXAS (KETK) — The Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville hosted their first shooting flying clays event on Saturday to benefit the youth. All the proceeds go toward children and local organizations in East Texas and children in third world countries.
The shootout was held at Mud Creek ATV Park in Jacksonville. The cold whether didn't keep the kids and adults indoors. East Texans were having fun spending time with family and friends.
Club members tell us, they exceeded their expectations. They were expecting 10 teams, but 32 teams gathered to support the event on Saturday There were 10 shooting stations and each person gets 10 shots. Food and prizes followed the shoot-out.
There were several kids there from Cherokee County including kids involved in 4-H Program of Jacksonville. The kids tell us, they're thankful for events like this because it helps raise money for scholarships.
