Tyler (KETK) — Chapel Hill native Stevie Jo Rosebalm lives to sing another day after he advanced on NBC's "The Voice" Monday night.
Rosenbalm took to the stage in the "battle rounds" against fellow Team Usher member Jake Barker. The duo belted out their best rendition of Steve Winwood's "Higher Love."
After the performance, Usher selected the East Texan as his voice victor.
"I'm still on Team Usher, which is what I wanted. It's great," said Rosenbalm. "I love Usher. Thank you Usher, you're the best. I wanna hug him."
Next up for Stevie Jo is the knockout round. According to the show's website, the artists will be paired again with a team member, but this time they find out only minutes before performing against whom they are competing. The artists each select their own songs and perform individually while their competitor watches and waits. They are vying for their coach's confidence and decision to take them to the live shows. Their coach will choose the winner and the artist not selected will be sent home.
