Lufkin, Texas (KETK) — A Lufkin man was arrested Wednesday for public intoxication after deputies found him stumbling down Highway 69 North.
At 12:36 p.m., dispatchers received a call of suspicious activity from a caller at the Family Dollar. Responding deputies found a man walking nearby on Highway 69.
The man, later identified as Larry Shane Lahman, 38, of Lufkin, reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol, a red face and bloodshot eyes, said Angelina County Sheriff Greg Sanches. During questioning, the suspect admitted to drinking a "big 40 cobra" and smoking "spice" at 9 a.m.
A deputy arrested Lahman on public intoxication and took him to the Angelina County Jail. His bail was set at $500.
