Nacogdoches, Texas (KETK) — The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office received an inspection by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards last Monday. Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that the jail passed the inspection with no noted violations.
The jail inspections involve checking for the jail maintenance, water pressure, kitchen inspection, paperwork and logs for the jail. The jail inspection is very in depth, and I commend our staff for the hard work and dedication throughout the year.
A two day inspection was conducted on the Nacogdoches County Jail that was originally built in 1989 and added onto in 1991. The facility is almost 25 years old and it is a challenge every day to make sure that we stay on top of maintenance issues within our control and to make sure that we stay within compliance of jail standards.
Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that other branches of county government play a key role in the success of the Nacogdoches County Jail such as the Commissioner’s Court, Auditor’s Office, courts, clerks and prosecutors.
