New York (KETK) — With months of debate and discussion wrapped up as to whom the Texans would select with the first overall pick, the franchise settled on defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
Sports analysts across the county had argued whether the club should select South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney, Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel or University of Central Florida's Blake Bortles. In the end, the Texans went with defense.
Houston's next pick, unless traded, will be 33rd overall.
The Texans finished last season with the worst record in the league at 2-15 (1-5) after having Super Bowl expectations.
