Longview, Tx (KETK) — The 37th annual Alleyfest kicked off Friday afternoon in Longview and the fun will keep rolling all weekend.
City officials say the event is even more special this year because Alleyfest has teamed up with Historic Depot Days.
The unveiling of the renovated train station will take place Saturday at 10a.m. There will be tours, an exhibit train and train rides.
Downtown there will be food, retail booths, children's activities, face painting ,and a farmer's market.
Live music will play all weekend including a headline concert by country music artist Granger Smith.
The city even created a special App to tie the historical and modern-day Longview together.
City spokesman Shawn Hara says the App is what he's most excited about.
" It's all around downtown and also the depot area..theres about 50 pictures that are loaded..so you go to that spot...open your phone..you can see an overlay between what your camera sees now and what was here and what was here 100 years ago."
