NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KETK) — Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, Pct 1 and Pct 4 Constable's Office combined their efforts to serve warrants and make several arrests in a six-month long undercover investigation into drug activity in Nacogdoches County.
Pct. 4 Constable David Stone said deputies served warrants on Kristal Garza Soto, 34, and Martin Betancourt, 30, of Nacogdoches, on Friday.
Soto is charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance and felony endangering a child. Stone said the investigation revealed Soto had exposed a 12-year-old girl to meth. Betancourt is charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance.
Stone said during the course of the investigation of the home, deputies found meth and marijuana resulting in Betancourt being re-arrested on Monday, after bonding out of jail on Friday, on new charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Stone said they also found additional amounts of meth during Soto's arrest.
Deputies discovered Soto husband was using a false identification and is actually Demetrio Soto, 38, of Nacogdoches. Stone said Soto was out of prison on parole and had been extradited to Mexico, but returned to East Texas using several different aliases.
Stone said Demetrio Soto was arrested Monday on a charge of third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Karl Evan Meisch 23, and Christopher Sheffield, 28, were arrested last month as part of the same investigation. Sheffield is charged with four different counts and is being held under an $80,000 bond.
Constable David Stone wants to extend a special thanks to the Nacogdoches Sheriff's Department and Pct 1 Constable's office for their cooperation and assistance in these arrests.
