Tulsa, OK (NBC) — A 14-year-old is dead after a North Tulsa shooting around 9:30 Thursday night.
Sergeant Dave Walker said the teen girl was shot in the head while riding in a white Ford truck on the Gilcrease Expressway.
The girl was taken to a nearby hospital in grave condition and pronounced dead around 3 a.m.
Police said the driver of the Ford truck heard a noise and thought something was wrong with their trailer. That's when they pulled over and the suspect shot the teen in the backseat.
The Ford was pulling multiple four-wheelers on its trailer.
Walker said detectives are looking into the suspect wanting to steal the four-wheelers as a possible motive for the shooting.
Later that night, a police chase involving a black Dodge Charger ended just before 10:30 p.m. police took two men into custody. Walker said they believe the suspect could still be on the loose.
